WWII created the Paratrooper. Alex served as one with Company
E, 515th Parachute Infantry, 13th Airborne Division, of the 82nd
Airborne. He received advanced infantry training at Camp Bancroft,
South Carolina starting on July 8, 1944. He served in Europe
advancing across France and into Germany during 1944-1945.
