     Initially
    Brian was trained in May,1945 as a "SeaBee", but the
    war's end found him serving on board the U.S.S. Bayfield (APA-33)
    as a machinist Mate 2nd Class from 1946-1948. The U.S.S. Bayfield
    served as a transport to evacuate Bikini Atoll and personnel
    from ships assembled in "Operation Cross Roads" for
    the Atomic Bomb tests held in 1947-1948. He also served on the
    U.S.S. Union (AKA-106) during the last 6 months 1948. Initially
