- Ralph
entered the Army Air Corps in March of 1943 at Fort Devons, MA.
and then Drew Field, Florida. Prior Ham Radio Operator experience
placed him as a Radio\ Radar Repairman with Company A, 5th Platoon,
595th Signal Aircraft Warning Battalion, 5th Air Force. The outfit
deployed the early warning of radar and I.F.F. "Friend or
Foe Identification" radio signal identification around airfields
in New Guinea, Bismark, and Tarlac, Luzon, Philippines. Also
stuffed into his Shoe Box of photos are currency and other documents
from that era.
