Ralph R. Johnson Jr. *** U.S. Army Air Corps *** 1943-1945

 

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Ralph's basic training started at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri in 1943. Selected for the Army Air Corps Aviation Cadet training he was sent to Amherst College in Massachusetts for Meteorology, then Maxwell Field, Alabama for Pre-Flight training, ended up playing a trumpet with the Cadet Marching Band, sent for bombardier school at Big Spring, Texas, the war ended and was discharged from Chanute Field, Illinois, December 10, 1945.
