World War II ending

France

France was one of the first European nations to feel the presence and liberation of cities and towns as the allied forces routed the German forces. Repressed during the war, the French citizens bitterness and anger was swiftly transferred to the men and women who collaborated with German soldiers for their own gains. In Verdun, Warren Abele, Richmond, MA serving with the 7th Armored Division, 3rd Army, was present when women, who's heads were shaved, were paraded through the streets publicly identified them and taunting them as traitors.
