Raymond E. Rivers *** U.S. Marines *** Vietnam 1968-1969

 

Sargent Rivers served in Vietnam from August 1968 to September 1969 with the U.S. Marines, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines as a Scout and Photo Interpreter. Landing in Da Nang he was stationed north at Dong Ha near the 1954 Demarcation Line between North and South Vietnam, better known as the DMZ. He took part in Operations "Virginia Ridge" "Idaho Canyon" and "Leather Square" which essentially meant to seek and engage the North Vietnamese 9th NVA Regiment.
