Douglas G. Poland *** U.S. Army *** Korea 1952-1955

 

Entering the Army in October 1952 during the Korea War, Doug went to Fort Dix, New Jersey for basic infantry training. Afterwards he returned to Fort Devons, Massachusetts for 23 weeks of security training becoming a radio/ Morse code interceptor. He served in a area near Kimpo Air Field, South Korea from October 1953 to Summer 1955. He was discharged a sergeant in September 1955.
