Donald H. McCoy *** U.S. Army *** WWII-Europe 1943-1946

Don entered military service during World War II in September of 1943. Basic infantry training was at Fort Eustis, Virginia where he received additional training as a member of an anti-aircraft battery. Assigned to Company C, 376th Combat Support Engineers, 7th Army he constructed bridges and other structures across Northern Africa, Corsica, Southern France crossing the Rhine River in Germany. It appears building bridges were their speciality.
